Dobutamine Stress Echo (DSE) / Pharmacological
Prerequisites for Stress echo, Dobutamine stress echo and TMT 1.Pt Should not be on beta blockers for 24 hrs to 48 hrs. Unless specified by referring doctor to do the test on medication 2.Hb to be > 10 gm% (done within 3 days). 3.Sodium / potassium to be with in normal range (done with in 3 days). If creatinine is > 2.5 mgm/sec then serum electrolytes report should be of same day. 4.BP should be < 140/90. 5.pO2 should be > 95%. 6.Pt should not be having chest pain at rest. 7.Pt should not have had heart attack (MI) within 4 weeks. 8.ECG should not show serious arrythmias (heart rhythm should not be grossly disturbed). 9.Referring doctors prescription is necessary. 10.Bring old records like ECG, previous ECHO, angiography report. 11.4 Hrs Fasting before test. 12.In Male patients shave / Trim the chest hair if long. 13.Bring your walking shoes for comfortable tread mill. 14.It is advisable to bring an attendant with you for the test. 15.List of common beta blockers to be stopped with duration _______ GENERIC NAME Brand name Stop for a period of and take alternative medicine If needed.
